PwC completes acquisition of Booz & Co

Big 4 firm PWC has completed its acquisition of Booz & Co following regulatory and partner approval. Booz & Co is an international consultancy business and currently employs around 3,000 staff including 130 partners worldwide.

Booz & Co are now to become part of the PWC network and the consultancy firm will now be known as Strategy &, which will be used alongside the PwC name and brand.

The company has already rebranded its website to Strategy &.

PwC partner and global consulting leader Tony Poulter has been appointed to Strategy &’s board of directors. The executive board of Strategy & will also see two PwC partners take up additional roles.

The acquisition is part of a growing trend which sees firms amalgamate consulting businesses, largely due to increased competition and a crack-down on other service lines such as audit and tax.

PWC believe the combination of Booz & Company with the existing assurance, advisory and tax capabilities would create an outstanding professional services organisation that delivers first class quality services to a broad range of stakeholders.

US-based Booz & Co was reportedly involved in several high profile deals including, the merger of the national and American football leagues in the 1970s and the creation of Deutsche Telekom after the reunification of Germany, according to City Am.
